I was born and raised in Kingstree, South Carolina and lived there until moving to Greenville to attend Furman University where I graduated in 2000 with a degree in Religion. After attending the University of South Carolina School of Law, I returned to Greenville and have been in private practice since 2004.
At the outset of my career, I focused primarily on Probate and Family Court matters, honing my knowledge of the law as well as my trial skills. In 2010, I started the Law Office of W. Cory Hughes, LLC. Here, I continue to build upon my experience in the Probate and Family Courts and have expanded my practice to include successes in other civil matters as well. I have found that my relationships with my clients are the most rewarding aspects of my job.
After my first year in Greenville as a student at Furman University, I never thought I would live anywhere else. The people of Greenville are wonderful in the ways they work together to make this city better. Following in their footsteps, I volunteer time as a Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 221 in Mauldin. I was a founding member of the board of directors for YouthBASE which provides behavioral and educational support to at-risk children. I also attend Advent United Methodist Church where I served as a caregiver for the Transformers Sunday school class and a member of the Evangelism Committee and Childrenâs Council. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor cooking and outings with my wife, sons, and dog.
