Phillip Ellis

Hello, I’m Phillip Ellis, founder of the Ellis Law Firm of North Louisiana. I am dedicated to providing honest, straightforward, and fair legal representation to those in need. I was raised near the Kisatchie National Forest in east central Claiborne Parish and attended Cedar Creek High School in Ruston, graduating in 2005. I went on to earn a Criminal Justice degree from the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2009, graduating cum laude. My early career was rooted in law enforcement, where I served as a correctional deputy with the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office and graduated from the North Louisiana Criminal Justice Academy with academic honors in 2011.

My passion for law led me to Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, where I served as an officer for both the Moot Court Board and Law Review. I also worked as a research assistant to now-Dean Patricia Bennett and completed a judicial externship in the Third Judicial District Court, assisting Judges Cynthia Woodard, James Boddi, and Jay McCallum. In December 2014, I graduated magna cum laude and passed the Louisiana State Bar Exam in February 2015.

I began my legal career with the Louisiana Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General, where I defended the State of Louisiana in cases involving workers’ compensation, general liability, medical malpractice, civil rights, and road hazard claims. In 2019, I established the Ellis Law Firm of North Louisiana in Farmerville, committed to protecting the rights of individuals and businesses across the region.
